Role Overview
As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, testing, and support of electrical systems and components critical to our cutting-edge aerospace technologies. Your expertise will help ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and validate electrical systems and wiring harnesses in compliance with applicable standards and customer requirements.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, systems, and software engineers to integrate electrical solutions effectively.
- Support prototype build and testing activities, analysing test data and implementing design improvements as necessary.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation including schematics, specifications, and test reports.
- Conduct failure analysis and troubleshoot electrical issues to ensure system performance and reliability.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and emerging technologies relevant to aerospace electrical engineering.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and promote best engineering practices across projects.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Proven experience in electrical design and development, preferably within aerospace, defence, or related engineering sectors.
- Strong understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and circuit design principles.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as IPC, MIL-STD, or equivalent aerospace regulations.
- Competency in using engineering tools such as CAD software and electrical simulation packages.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage time and priorities efficiently.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience working on aerospace or defence projects.
- Knowledge of EMC/EMI considerations and testing procedures.
- Professional engineering accreditation (e.g., IET Chartered Engineer status) is an advantage.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and quality assurance processes.
